This substantial five-bedroom family home formed one of three large residences delivered in collaboration with Bentier Homes. Our studio was appointed to undertake the full interior design and specification across all three properties, ensuring a cohesive yet elevated finish that would position the development at the premium end of the market.
A Flexible, Elevated Outcome
This project demonstrates the value of early, comprehensive interior direction within a development context — and the flexibility required when transitioning from developer specification to private client customisation.
By combining detailed technical documentation, strong architectural features, and adaptable design foundations, we delivered a home that feels both refined and personal — a seamless evolution from premium development property to bespoke family residence.
Full Interior Design & Technical Specification
Our scope encompassed comprehensive space planning and the refinement of internal circulation to ensure each home felt intuitive, balanced, and generous in proportion. Particular care was taken to create a natural flow between formal entertaining rooms and relaxed family spaces, enhancing both usability and architectural harmony.
We produced a detailed drawing package including:
General arrangement plans
Small power and lighting layouts
Bathroom and wet-area elevations
Bespoke joinery details
Feature design elements such as coffered ceiling layouts, fireplace compositions, and panelling setting-out drawings
Sanitaryware, lighting, and all interior finishes were fully specified, ensuring continuity of design intent from concept through to installation.
Personalisation Mid-Construction
Part way through construction, this particular property was sold off plan. The new purchaser approached us directly to personalise the scheme while the build was still underway — a process that allowed for meaningful refinement without compromising the integrity of the original design.
Significant updates were introduced, including revised bathroom tile finishes, additional panelling to the entrance hall and staircase, and a re-selection of paint colours throughout to better reflect the client’s preferences. These considered amendments enhanced the individuality of the home while maintaining cohesion with the broader architectural framework.
Working with Clare on our new build made what could have been a stressful experience much more relaxed. She came up with options that have given all the rooms a unique feel but that link and flow into each other, matching our often-tricky brief of traditional elements within a new build environment. She really listened in terms of feedback on ideas and budget, coming up with creative ways to solve issues that arose. She was also very professional in our day-to-day dealings with her, efficient in getting back to us, chasing down external suppliers and her attention to detail was spot on.
