Situated in one of the most prestigious addresses in Knightsbridge, just moments from the world-renowned Harrods, this luxury 19th-century Grade II listed apartment presented one of our more intricate refurbishment challenges.
Located on the second floor of an elegant Victorian mansion block, the property required careful and sensitive intervention to respect its heritage while elevating it to meet contemporary luxury living standards.
Reimagining a Compact Footprint
Working within the constraints of a listed building and a relatively compact floorplan demanded foresight and ingenuity. Small spaces require intelligent planning — particularly when concealing essential services and modern appliances without compromising on aesthetics.
Our redesign focused on maximising light, enhancing circulation, and creating the illusion of greater volume. Through a soft, sophisticated colour palette and carefully considered detailing, we ensured the apartment feels brighter, warmer, and more expansive while meeting the expectations of a luxury show home.
Heritage with Contemporary Refinement
The project involved minor building works alongside extensive redecoration of the previously dated interior. We introduced statement wallpapers, luxury fabric walling, bespoke joinery, and handcrafted chandeliers to elevate the architectural character of the space.
New marble bathrooms were designed to bring a sense of timeless elegance and spa-like indulgence, complementing the classical proportions of the building while offering modern functionality.
Bespoke Craftsmanship
CNID designed a series of bespoke furniture pieces, manufactured by specialist cabinet makers and upholsterers. Each item was tailored precisely to the apartment’s dimensions, ensuring that every inch of space was utilised efficiently without feeling crowded.
An array of carefully selected fabrics introduced depth, texture, and quiet luxury throughout the interiors.
Fully Curated & Dressed
The final dressing of the apartment was undertaken in-house, including the sourcing and placement of specialist artwork and decorative accessories. Every element was curated to reinforce the refined, cohesive aesthetic and to present the property as a fully realised, turnkey residence.
